Economic hardship: Don admonishes wives to be supportive of their husbands

Prof. Adebusola Adepoju, a Professor of Agriculture Economics, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, has called on woman/wives to be more supportive of their husbands to reduce their burden and increase their lifespan.

Adepoju disclosed this on Saturday at the Public Presentation of her book, titled "The Sacrifices of Exceptional Fathers" held in Osogbo, Osun State Capital.

She noted that women's support can have a significant positive impact on husbands' well-being and improve their mental health.

According to her, "Having a home and building a home should not rest only on the Father.

"Everything should not be shouldered by the fathers. when women help their men, as they are one in marriage, it will go a long way to remove the stress that are and burdens put on the fathers."

She said when wives support and help their husbands, the men will be mentally sound as against weighing them down with pressures that impacts them negatively.

She said men (fathers) have lots of mental stress they pass through daily which includes: providing for the home, education of the children and others, adding that this task are often enormous for them.

Speaking on her book, Adepoju said the book is built on the foundation of real-life experiences shared by contributors, making their contributions invaluable resources for prospective mothers, fathers, and grandparents.

"The stories, lessons, and insights captured in this book offer practical wisdom that can shape and enrich the journey to parenthood.

"While I was writing the book, I got to discover that many men these days are willing to be part of the growing up of their children, are willing to be involved.

"For this reason, this book is good for women, to help them understand the sacrifices of their husbands.

"Again, the book is also for those who are intending to be fathers: they will know the things fathers pursue, and also understand that, these days you don't have to be rigid or remain traditional," she said

The royal fathers at the event, the Elerinmo of Erinmo Kingdom, Oba Michael Ajayi, and the Owajigbo of Ejigbo Orangun, Ila Orangun, Oba Ademola Arinloye both agreed that the book provides insight into the sacrifices fathers make in raising their children.
