A 34-year-old man, Saheed Ishola, remanded by n Ile-Ife Magistrates' Court on Monday, for allegedly theft N120,000.
The Prosecutor, Insp Adesina Elijah, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 12, 2025 around 05:00 pm at New World Hotel, Gbelenkan, Ile-Ife.
He said that the defendant with others now at large conspired to commit felony to wit: stealing.
According to him, the defendant stole the sum of N120,000, property of one Ebie Lucky.
Elijah explained that the defendant assaulted one Ilesanmi Kayode and Adegoke Ayomide with cutlass and other dangerous weapon to inflict injury on their cheeks and body.
The Prosecutor stated that the defendant used cutlass and axe to maliciously destroy 50 cartons of Heineken beer that valued N200,000; 2 dozens of plastic chairs that worth N360,000, total valued N560,000, property of Ebie Lucky.
Elijah expressed further that the offence contravened sections 355, 390(9), 451 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, who was not legally represented, however, pleaded not guilty to four-count charge of: conspiracy, stealing, assault and malicious damage.
Magistrate Abosede Sarumi did not grant the bail of the defendant, but asked for formal application for consideration of the bail.
Sarumi adjourned the case until June 16, for hearing.
