Pastor Samuel Oladele, the President, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas, has charged Nigerian politicians to apply biblical principles in governing the country.
Oladele made the call on Wednesday,at the 2026 CAC Pastors’ Conference, held at the Babalola Memorial International Miracle Camp, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun, with the theme: “The Bible: God’s Message to Man.”
He said that the Bible contained guidance on how leaders should govern with righteousness, integrity and concern for the welfare of citizens.
The President admonished politicians to make its teachings relevant to public administration.
The cleric said that the word of God remained an authority for addressing challenges of life, stressing that leaders should seek divine guidance on how to discharge their responsibilities.
According to him, the Bible provides guidance on leadership, including how governors, presidents and other public officials should conduct themselves while in office and avoid actions that undermine public trust.
“Our advice to politicians, as we are preparing for the general elections, is for them to go back to the word of God,” he said.
Oladele said political leaders should constantly ask themselves what God required of them, added that public interest and the welfare of citizens should remain central to their responsibilities.
He stated that although leadership sometimes required difficult decisions, such decisions should ultimately be directed toward improving the wellbeing of Nigerians and addressing challenges confronting the country.
The CAC president said the conference was designed to remind pastors and Christians of the importance of returning to biblical teachings.
The clergy maintained that the word of God provided guidance irrespective of people’s colour, race, religion or social status.
Oladele admonished the pastors attending the conference to use the retreat to refresh and renew themselves spiritually, urged that they should return home with renewed commitment to their responsibilities and service to humanity.
