Pastor Enoch Adeboye and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), have donated a dialysis centre to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC) Wesley Guild in Ilesa.
Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun, along with OAUTHC, officially commissioned the Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centre at OAUTHC Wesley Guild on Thursday in Ilesa, marking Pastor Folu Adeboye's 77th Birthday.
The Governor commended the mission for its consistent good work in touching lives in the health sector, education, and humanitarian relief at every nook and cranny worldwide.
Adeleke emphasised that kidney-related ailments are on the rise, in many patients cannot afford the treatment. He appreciated Pastor Adeboye and his wife for filling the gap of hope for the hopeless and help for the helpless.
The Governor,who was represented by the State Commissioner for Health, Barr. Jola Akinsola, charged other Christian organisation, NGO, and philanthropists to support, appealed to the hospital management to effectively maintain the centre.
He pledged that the State government will collaborate with the Federal Government to ensure the centre is not closed down and will provide consumables to use therein.
Earlier, Pastor Johnson Odesola, the RCCG Continental Overseer, who doubles as the Continental SouthWest, Nigeria, testify that Pastor Adeboye is a Pathfinder who not only preaches the gospel, but also demonstrates what he preaches.
Odesola, who represented Pastor Adeboye, said that the General Overseer shows care to the generality, for his aim is for this generation to fulfil their destiny by living well with sound health.
He lamented the leaders who patronised foreign medical treatment, appealing to them to emulate the good gesture of Pastor Adeboye by giving the best in the health sector for the citizenry to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Earlier, Pastor Kayode Pitan, the Assistant National Christian Social Responsibility Coordinator (CSR), RCCG, said that "His Love Foundation (HLF)" is the charity arm of RCCG that is involved in social, health and education, among others.
Pitan, who was represented by Assistant CSR Coordinator Pastor Detola Akinyemi, stated that they are commissioning the 13th dialysis centre that the RCCG is donating across Nigeria.
According to him, their various inventions have benefited 207,761,297 people over the past eight years, and they have spent over N110 billion on various social impacts in the country.
"We've completed over 3 million projects and impacted not less than 656 LG areas in the nation.
"Our latest dialysis centre building was donated by Pastor Folu Adeboye, which has three dialysis machine beds; one water reverse osmosis purification system; one 30 KVA generator and air conditioners". National CSR.
In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director, OAUTHC Prof. John Okeniyi, appreciated God for giving everyone the grace to witness the day, congratulations the celebrant, and thanked them for the donation.
Okeniyi said that OAUTHC, Ile-Ife, is the largest of the branches that pioneered renal transplantation in Nigeria, and the donation of dialysis centre includes a purpose-built facility, dialysis machines and chairs.
He added that this centre will serve patients across six states and complement their critical tools for treating kidney failure, which can be life-threatening.
The CMD appealed for start-up consumables for at least 20 patients, to enable immediate service delivery to those most in need.
