A 20-year-old.man, Ajide Timileyin, arraigned on Monday, before an Ile-Ife Magistrates' Court for allegedly fraud N270,000.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometimes in April, 2025 around 02:00 pm at Obande area, Mayfair, Ile-Ife.
Osanyintuyi said that the defendant fraudulently stole a cash sum of N270,000, which he withdrew from Opay and Palmpay account of one Folahan Roseline.
He added that the offence contravened 383 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant,who was not legally represented, however, pleaded not guilty to one-count charge of fraud.
Magistrate Abosede Sarumi granted the bail of the defendant in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like amount.
Sarumi said that the sureties must swear to affidavit of means, resides within the court jurisdiction, their addresses to be verified by the Prosecutor.
She added that the sureties must as well provide three years tax clearance certificate and three recent passport photographs each.
The case was adjourned until June 2, for hearing.
