Sen. Olubiyi Fadeyi, the Bobasofin of Ondo Kingdom and Atayese II of Ifetedo representing Osun Central at the National Assembly, on Friday, felicitated with Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on the Olojo festival.
Fadeyi appreciated Ooni for his fatherly role towards the progress and development of Ile-Ife, Osun and Nigeria at large.
He said that since Ooni ascended to the throne of his ancestors, he has been adding value to the cultural heritage of Yorubaland.
According to him, the efforts of Oba Ogunwusi to sustain the tradition of our forefathers cannot be over-emphasised.
"Throughout Nigeria and overseas, Ooni has been prioritising and patronising Yoruba culture and tradition which are being accepted in Brazil, Cuba, United Kingdom among others to the extent that if care is not taken, the next generation will miss it all.
"Almost all our relics and artifacts have been taken away by foreigners because we didn't value what we have, and we will be looking for them and would not be happy with the past heroes," the Senator stated.
He commended the Royal Father for holding the significant cultural and historical value, providing insight into the lives and craftsmanship of past generations.
Fadeyi prayed for Ooni to celebrate more years on the throne so as to be able to disseminate all that has been given from heaven to humanity.
