A 48-year-old man, Oyewobi Babatunde, on Wednesday, docked before an Ile-Ife Magistrates' Court over alleged assault.
The Prosecutor, Insp Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 27,2025 around 10:00 am at Oke-Pao Area, Modakeke, Ife East Area, Office.
Osanyintuyi said that the defendant conspired with others now at large to commit felony to wit: grievous harm and conduct likely to caused breach of peace.
He added that the defendant assaulted one Ogunleye Kehinde "M" with stones and other dangerous weapons which does him harm on his head.
According to him, the defendant conducted himself in a manner that may cause breach of peace with pandemonium at the above mentioned address.
The Prosecutor expressed that the offence contravened sections: 249(d), 355 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and breach of peace.
The Defence Counsel, Mr. Joseph Amole, pledged for the bail of the defendant in most Liberal term, pledged that his client would not jump bail, but would provide reliable sureties.
Magistrate Abosede Sarumi did not grant the bail of the defendant, but ordered for his remand in Ile-Ife Nigerian Correctional Service till sitting date.
Sarumi therefore adjourned the case untill June 4, for mention at Modakeke Magistrates' Court
