Akoraye Vocational Training Centre Graduates 600 Trainees - Coordinator

Comrade Sumibola Temitope, the Coordinator, Akoraye Vocational Training Centre, has said that no fewer than 600 artisans who graduated in different skills like: fashion designing, hairdressing, bag making, make-up, among others, went home with their working machines.

Temitope made this known during the House of Akoraye 6th Edition Graduation Ceremony held at Modakeke Town Hall on Sunday.

He explained that the centre had produced 2,000 apprentices within six years to date, adding that some of their seniors have continued to higher institutions, while others have established businesses and are making positive impact in their lives.

The Coordinator admonished the vocational trainees to progress academically, and those who cannot further their education should not rest on the nine-month training but should acquire more knowledge online for standard updates.

Earlier, the Chairman, Modakeke Progressive Union (MPU), Prof. Peter Olawuni, appreciated God for assisting the coordinator to empower the youths and make their lives better.

Olawuni, who was represented by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Union, Mr. Ayo Ogunmuyiwa, commended the convener for writing a historical landmark in Modakeke.

According to him, the Coordinator's children will read the history by benefitting immensely in the future, for whatever a man sows, he shall surely reap.

He charged the apprentices to judiciously utilize the opportunity of their acquired skills to build their lives and be good ambassadors of the centre, town, state, and Nigeria at large.

Among the skills were: fashion designing, make-up, hairdressing, bag making, catering, and make-up, among others.

Miss Oyelowo Damilola, a fashion designer who spoke on behalf of others, appreciated God, the coordinator, and sponsors of the programme, and pledged to utilize the opportunity and assist others in the future.

Our Correspondent reports that apart from general empowerment to all apprentices, the exceptional trainees received extra machines in their field.

Dignitaries from near and far graced the occasion, among them are: the Royal Father of the day, Oba Joseph Toriola, the Ogunsua of Modakeke, represented by Oosa of Modakeke, Chief Remi Akinremi; Public Relations Officer (PRO), Modakeke Progressive Union, Mr. Ayo Ogunmuyiwa, among others.
